  •  I use LCOE figures over 30 year lifespan (5+ / 0-)

I apply the same metrics to each form of generation, nat gas, coal, nukes, solar wind, hydro, geo thermal.

    That is fair.

Wind is the cheapest new construction. 3.3 to 6.5 cents per kwh.

    •  Do you oppose offshore wind? (0+ / 0-)

It's quite a bit more expensive than onshore wind.

      •  Why would I oppose the cheapest (0+ / 0-)

form of new construction based on LCOE?

I advocate for offshore, have written extensively on large scale projects in the North Sea and the East coast of the US, like the Atlantic Wind Connection.

    •  How are you pricing the externalities (1+ / 0-)

      into coal plants?

      According to here:

      http://en.wikipedia.org/...

your estimates seem to be wildly off, unless you are assuming no offshore wind. Solar PV and offshore wind are among the most expensive.

And including externalities into natural gas regarding global warming, and the health/mortality issues related to coal boost those numbers considerably depending on your assumptions.

      •  I compare LCOE, thats not clear? (0+ / 0-)

levelized cost of energy figured over 30 years.
