I'm just surprised that the House hasn't just chosen to never ever fund the agency.  No funds would mean no staff to do things like write regulations, investigate complaints or to testify to Congress about how they're being prevented from functioning.  And, of course, no Cordray.

The budget would always have to be approved by the House and this seems like a perfect thing for Republicans to be happy to torpedo.

and funds were found elsewhere to run it.

If Dems in the WH and Congress want to fix these problems, they can.  They just need to make up their mind that they need to lead on their own instead of letting the GOP minority (or their corporate donors) control them.

They haven't made the tough choice yet to lead on their own.  And we just re-elected them.  Hard to say who is the bigger fool here, us or them.

Democratic Leaders must be very clear they stand with the working class of our country. Democrats must hold the line in demanding that deficit reduction is done fairly -- not on the backs of the elderly, the sick, children and the poor.
