  •  A little fishy ... (8+ / 0-)

... that this is happening on a PA project in NYC. The airports in NYC are "Union Only" zones. These jobs are patrolled daily by Union Representatives.  So it is very strange that the Union stood by and let non-Union employees work on this jobsite - prevailing wage or not. I wonder if this investigation will end up trickling into the Union itself ....

... public work in NYC is still 90% Union (by $$). The remaining 10% is typically for very small jobs that are being worked on "off shifts" or while buildings are unoccupied for a short period of time (i.e. Schools during summer break). That being said, ALL work at the two NYC airports are Union only.  The tile setters and mason tenders are two Unions are very diligent about protecting their work - Perhaps they made some kind of "trail period" deal with this guy? Unfortunately, they are also two Unions who have a long and storied history of corruption ....

... In any case, I'm sure this will play out over a long period of time.

    •  Not union only anymore (3+ / 0-)

the airport, New York City and State were all unions for decades, but those days are long gone. 40% of New York City construction is non-union now.

      I regret to inform you.

Orly, it isn't evidence just because you downloaded it from the internet.
