  •  Hate to say it but sorta wishful thinking (4+ / 0-)

they have had the whole first Obama administration to get something going and now, 4+ years later theyre fighting the kind of case the S&P has beaten before.
lets just say I'm not real optimistic

    Happy just to be alive

    •  If they're bringing cases again (5+ / 0-)

... I'd suspect they may have more evidence of intent to defraud.  The lack of such evidence is presumably why the earlier cases were thrown out, if the snippet in the diary is indicative.

I've castigated the DOJ for failing to bring cases against the powers that be on Wall Street for four years.  I'm just happy to see somebody facing charges who's not just a garden-variety Ponzi operator or inside trader.

Citizens United defeated by citizens, united.

      •  This is going to shock the financial elites now... (0+ / 0-)

and possibly make them at least aware that someone is paying attention. So far the R's have effectively insulated the 1% against investigations. I doubt however, that if the DOJ finds real fraud or treachery the R's will have much success distancing themselves from the outcome or responsibility for their corruption.
It sure makes connecting the dots much easier and clearer when the top judicial department of the nation does its job for all the people, and not just those at the top.
