  •  Carry-over motion (1+ / 0-)

BBC Parliament channel says this motion "will allow the Bill to be completed in the next Parliament".

As the next Parliament is likely to be elected in 2015, I would have thought the bill would have been dealt with long before then, even if the Parliament Act has to be used to over-rule the House of Lords (which would involve the House of Commons passing the bill in two successive sessions).

This really is a procedure I have never heard of before.

    •  Carry-over motion result (0+ / 0-)

The result this time is 464-38.

A number of other motions passed by voice vote. They did not seem to be anything of major significance, but they may or may not have had something to do with the main business of the day.

The House is now moving into an adjournment debate, so it has finished with the same sex couples bill for today.
