    If Bagger gramps says things that are fear-drenched and bigoted, his grandchildren can sit down in front of their PC and look it up, check it out, transcend the limits.

    In the Cold War model, far-away cultures were distant things, remote from the experience of people in Dayton or Des Moines or Dallas.  But tonight, those places and ideas are a few clicks away.  

    The xenophobes' world model crumbles when a far-away ship comes to port and everybody in town heads down to the dock to oggle the cargo.

      Junior gets the lowdown from InfoWars. I mean, look at how familiar most Americans are with Islam, even though there's a mosque in town.

      Umm, european history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries seems to disprove this statement.
