    the Big Money folks will see the writing this represents on the wall and very quickly throw some lobbyist money at their pet Congresscritters to shut it down quickly.

    Of course, then I'd love to see the companies and their political pets face RICO charges, too, but then I know I'm dreaming!

      AIG was about to assert the same thing and negotiate down their payout to Goldman, and then look what happened.  The govt conspired to block any private money to bail them out, then sacked the place.
      Nobody is going to boo hoo over AIG, and they might not have survived anyway, but that whole episode stinks to high heaven.
