  •  So, how long have Vitter, et al, been in Senate? (5+ / 0-)
....limiting the number of terms that a Member of Congress may serve to ... 2 in the Senate.
David Vitter is in his second term and up for re-election in 2016.

In their first terms are Rand Paul, Kelly Ayotte, Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson,  Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, and Pat Toomey.

Tom Colburn is also in his second term and would be up in 2016.  However,  it looks like he has integrity on this issue.  He upheld his campaign pledge to serve no more than three consecutive terms and did not run for re-election in 2000. In 2004, he returned to political office with a successful run for the U.S. Senate. Coburn was re-elected to a second term in 2010 and has pledged not to seek a third term in 2016.

Too bad we have to wait from three to 13 years on the others to know if they'd practice what they preach.

But I suppose it would be the most junior members of the Senate would support this the most---since committee chairs are based on seniority, they would advance much more quickly.  But I'm not cynical or anything...
