  •  I actually don't think it's referring to rape. (8+ / 0-)

I think it's referring to the stereotype (a fairly accurate one for many guys, actually) that men will do incredibly stupid things if they think it'll let them have sex with an attractive woman.

Think of all the Femme Fatales in movies, books, plays and TV shows, seducing men into committing murder or provide them an alibi for their own crimes.

I could easily see the shirt promoting the "jailbait"/ statuatory rape angle, but I mostly think it's more along the lines of "you'd kill someone to get with me".

    •  I suppose that's another way to look at it... (1+ / 0-)

But then I've never been the kind of guy who'd fight for a woman.

    •  Now, having said that, I *will* add... (1+ / 0-)

...that I personally don't like novelty shirts in general, and I'm not quite sure I know what an acceptable situation would be for a woman to wear this one, but perhaps I'm just a prude these days...

that's not what it means, period.
we can play this game to justify dk running it for hours.
      it's disgusting.
what nonsense to suggest it means "you would kill someone to be with me. " utter nonsense.

We consume the carcasses of creatures of like appetites, passions and organs with our own, and fill the slaughterhouses daily with screams of pain and fear. Robert Louis Stevenson

I'm not trying to "justify" dk running it. I think it's a pretty tacky ad, and agree that it should be pulled from the site.

I also said flat-out that I can easily see the jailbait angle, which is itself, after all, a reference to sex with underage girls, aka statuatory rape.

I'm just saying that I don't necessarily think that whoever wrote the slogan meant it quite the way you're taking it. Just because they meant to promote a different offensive idea from the offensive idea you think they meant doesn't justify the shirt or the ad any more.
