Megan Phelps-Roper, when you say that "Inflicting pain on others wasn’t the goal", you give the lie to your pathetic non-apology apology. All those who had to bury their loved ones, I'm sure, can recall your taunts and signs with perfect clarity. What you did to them. And you think your words NOW mean anything?

You are unforgiven. And will remain so.

You don't know me, and I don't know you, and I don't know where you think you get off calling me a small man. But that was a mistake you made.

And shame on you for sympathizing with Megan Phelps-Roper. Shame on you.

..on everyone who has expressed forgiveness for her, or also for everyone who might consider forgiving her at some point? Do you have any clue as to my precise sentiments are at this point? Can you point to any place where I have expressed sympathy for her?

From here you look very small.

to not forgive her, if that's what you want to do.  You can hate her the rest of your life.  No one is stopping you.

Others, though, have every right to sympathize and to forgive her, if that's what they want to do.

...Every time I see someone rebut someone with "You don't know me!  You can't judge me!" after being rebuked for doing something, I want to smack them.

By your works -- or comments -- we know you.  If you don't like the conclusions people come to after reading your comments, change the face you show the world.

Shame on you for being so inhuman as to be unable to show sympathy for a brainwashed child abuse victim who's just recently torn herself from the cult that's been everything she's known and which pretty much dictated her entire worldview for the first twenty-some-odd years she existed.

If you're incapable of considering that such a damaged person might be deserving of some sympathy and forgiveness, you are, indeed, a small person.

          •  Wrong, Praxical. (0+ / 0-)

            You are wrong.

Not sure what's up with your reading comprehension, but if you will try, TRY to read again what Ahianna wrote, you'll see that Ahianna was in the wrong, first attacking me with an ad hominem insult. Get it straight.

And shame on YOU for being so quick to forgive someone who would participate in disgusting protests at someone's funeral. Shame on YOU.

Lastly, if you feel like you want to smack ME, be honest and say so. I'm not that hard to find if you would like to try and give release to your juvenile, violent fantasies in real life, son.

          •  I think that is a rather simplistic view of what (0+ / 0-)

the Phelps family actually is.  They were/are not a closed off cult.  They have crazy beliefs and a strong leader, but they have all, from Fred's children down to today's grandchildren and their children, all mixed in public from preschool days on.

It is a different sort of situation. Pretending anyone really understands it is sort of a stretch.

And assuming that these people are as they are portrayed through a rather glowing personal interest story may also be a stretch.

Most of the information we have available now is not through objective reporting, but someone with a connection and a book to promote.

      •  That is an unnecessary judgment call on your part. (0+ / 0-)

Insulting members here is not good behavior.
