A few thoughts on the Post Office (a Constitutionally mandated government service).
    1. It is not paid for by tax money. All funds come from sales of stamps. Yet the USPS cannot set the price of stamps; Congress does that and they will not raise the price to cover the cost of delivering the mail.
    2. Congress passed a law in 2006 which said that the post office had to pre-fund its retirement package for future retirees for 75 years and had 10 years to find the money. No other government agency or private business has to do this. All other government agencies have to pre-fund retirement for 20 to 30 years, not 75. (Remember now that Congress also would not allow the USPS to raise the price of stamps to cover this.) Without this requirement, the USPS would have had a $1 billion profit since 2006.
3.The USPS has cut its employees by 33% since 2000. If you have to stand in line longer at the Post Office, maybe this has something to do with it.
    4. If you think 46 cents is a lot to pay to have someone take a letter from your house to someone else's house anywhere in the US, check out how much it would cost you to have FedEX do so.
    5. If I want to mail a 1 lb package from my house to my son in Nashville, it will cost $5.60 with the post office, but over $11 with either FedEx or UPS. If I want to send the same package to my brother-in-law in CA, it is $6.95 with the PO but $13 with UPS or FedEx. If the mailing were reversed, it would cost my son or brother-in-law the above rates if they used the USPS; however, if they used UPS or FedEx, they would have to pay more since I live in the country.

Save the USPS. Do not let Congress privatize our mail by continuing to put unfair burdens on the post office while not allowing them to set their own prices.

Feel free to use any of it to publicize this travesty.
