people use their foodstamps to buy chips and soda because that's what's easy and accessible.  Picking and choosing when to have compassion seems a bit - I don't know - hypocritical?  We had people using a corner of our property as their dump for awhile until we put up a chain so they couldn't get back there.  It irritated me and I considered going through it to find out who it was.  But I can't say I judged them quite so harshly.  Instead, I assumed it was someone who was in a tough spot, so we just cleaned it up and hauled it in and paid for it ourselves.  And my life was no worse for having done that.  Life is never going to be perfect nor will all people behave the way we'd like them to.  Getting so down on someone, even for being rude and selfish, just seems rather pointless to me.
