  •  Can't you take a cushion (6+ / 0-)

for the bench?  Like the "forever comfy" cushion they advertise on tv? I know it's smaller than a piano bench, but couldn't you put it where you need to sit? Sorry, I never made it past third year piano, so not sure if it would work for you, but there has to be something out there that would help.

    •  The biggest problem (5+ / 0-)

is that it's an electronic piano on wheels.  The dolly isn't properly designed to make the piano sit close to the floor.  The pedals are just enough higher than normal to make the sitting off-balance, no matter how much cushion I have.  If I put my foot at a comfortable angle, the keyboard is so far way I can barely reach it.

I'll survive it all, but I do feel like I've been "drug through a knothole" by the time I get home.  :-)

      •  Can you put a pillow (5+ / 0-)

or a low box or something on the floor to give you foot support? You could put it up to the pedals without touching, so you can rest your heels on it?

        •  I tried a book yesterday. (5+ / 0-)

That was just about right.  I'm thinking about finding a little block of 1x4 and putting the non-skid stuff on the back of it so it would stay put.  This happens a lot with these pianos and I could just put the block in my music bag so I have it whenever I need it.
