    with the tea party to begin with.  Always an establishment guy back to when he was Florida House Speaker.  He ran far right against Crist because that's where the opening was, and it fit the mood of the party at the time.  

    The other way to see it is the differences between the tea party and the rest of the party are more questions of style and emphasis, not real differences.  There's some division over immigration and the bailouts, and on the defense sequester, but they're lockstep on social issues and on basic beliefs about the role of the government in the economy.  Further, neither has any interest in foreign policy other than partisan gain.  While there may be some legitimately held right wing populism out there (think Pat Buchanan), nobody on the Republican side actually represents it because there's no money to be made.

    Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.
