    However, I also believe that there is no place in a progressive, liberal world for anyone who objects to some tight restrictions on the ownership of guns, and the safety demands we should place upon them.

    and what's baffling to me is the need of "liberals" to endlesslly "discuss" and "study" the problem prior to pursuing new, more restrictive legislation. the reason I recently saw here was "we're still a democracy and can't cram laws down peoples' throats".

    Huhh?? my response was this April marks the 6th anniversary of the VA Tech rampage killing which saw 32 people killed and 17 wounded. that's six years ago.

    while there were rampage killings prior to that, IMHO, the clock started ticking in April 2007 regarding congress doing something nationally regarding our gun violence/death problem. they have had SIX years to study and dscuss the problem.

    The clock didn't start ticking with Sandy Hook. Sandy Hook and the upcoming rampage killings are happening because congress refuses to act decisively.
