    A carbon "tax" is really just a proper accounting of the cost of producing the product, in this case, energy.

    CO2 is the waste produced as a byproduct of energy production from fossil fuel feedstock. Solid and liquid wastes produced during industrial processes have a disposal cost, which is reflected in the "cost of goods sold".

    It's time for gaseous wastes to also be properly accounted for in the cost of goods sold, instead of being dumped for free into the Commons.

    Let the Free Market work!

    (of course, so called "conservatives" in this country want to cheat by privatizing the profits and socializing the costs, but that's not a true "free market")
