    wow... I... just... but.... they...

What you're saying is just so completely different than what I saw on the ground and what the facts in Ohio say. That small margin was the Tea Party. They were the difference.

The Tea Party in Portage county was extremely active, and no doubt they and other Tea Parties delivered enough votes to Kasich to tip it. There was Tea Party fever here, we elected our first Republican county commissioner that I can ever remember.

But it's your diary. And I'm gonna get out of here before I get myself banned. Later.

Some would say that I'm off my gourd. I would say that I am a gourd.

is always a tiny tiny tiny sliver of the overall picture, exactly what we discussed at the meeting last night about the 2014 campaign. We talked about the danger of basing your campaign thinking on emotions and gut feelings and the handful of neighbors you have access to.

No one can ever project a statewide picture based on their own immediate experience, not me up here in Cuyahoga, or the fightin' Dems in blood-red Warren County (hi, Bethe!) or you out there in Portage which produced less than 50,000 of the nearly four million votes cast for governor. You are a teensy microcosm. We are a slightly larger one. Even if "Tea Party fever" swept ALL of Portage County (and I have plenty of activist friends in Portage I can check with), it would still be piffling. Oh — you DO know that Barack Obama and Sherrod Brown carried Portage by a healthy margin, don't you? So the fever can't be TOO strong.

      Jon Husted is a dick.
