  •  Certain Dems are also fond of Regressive Taxes (2+ / 0-)

In Minneapolis, Dems increased the sales and gambling taxes to finance a new stadium for the Vikings.

And federally, certain Dems have supported REGRESSIVE energy taxes, such as cap and trade or a carbon tax.

Dems should not support any fiscal policy which exacerbates income and wealth inequality.

And REGRESSIVE taxes do just that.

    •  Well, when it comes to stadiums (7+ / 0-)

everyone gets mindlessly bedazzled, and it infuriates me. Cuyahoga County (Cleveland) has a so-called "sin tax" in cigarettes and booze for its two stadiums that actually lost in the city but won in the wealthier ’burbs where people are close to the county line and can avoid it.

I am no David Sirota fan, to put it mildly. (He once HR'd me here for merely disagreeing with him). But he has a great piece on this up on Salon today.

I hate professional team sports, and I don't see why I should pay for their free pleasure palaces so they can afford to pay players obscene amounts.

      Jon Husted is a dick.

ok it is a pleasure that some enjoy - but it's not necessary for life or good for you and your health, or for the environment...so tax it.

Who cares if it's regressive?  Fight sensible battles....

      •  It's very Regressive. (0+ / 0-)

Google +seniors +casinos, and you'll see how hooked our elderly get on gambling.

And now Chris Christe wants to enable online gambling???!!!

Who's that going to hurt more?

        (a) Seniors and the working class or

        (b) The affluent.

Wrote it into the Ohio constitution via the ballot initiative process. Ohioans got worn down after multiple assaults oops I mean attempts by the pro-casino people. It is regressive like most tax law written by evil rich people.
