  •  Jackson, Ohio Is a Small Town ... (6+ / 0-)

of approximately 6400 people. It is in southern Ohio, east of Cincinnati and closer to West Virginia than to Cincinnati. It is the county seat of Jackson County and has a mayor and eight-person City Council. The Jackson City School District has a Superintendent and five board members. Jackson Middle School has approximately 600 students.

We are shocked and surprised to hear about this lawsuit.  FFRF had asked us to do an investigation, which we started almost immediately.  The investigation is almost complete and our attorneys are going to make a report and recommendations at our next board of education meeting on an appropriate course of action.

We have not seen nor been served the lawsuit.

    -- Phil Howard, Superintendent

Don't expect them to "get it." And the "portrait" looks like an inexpensive, generic print. I doubt that it has any historical significance despite its 60 years in place.
