    I have to say that I find these sad--filled with hidden and unacknowledged despair, as another commented said.  '

    Churchill painted, too.  A self-portrait is here.  Churchill also seems to have actually studied some rudiments: perspective, for example.

    As with public policy, our former President seems to have dispensed with any notion of craft, study, or history and decided to create his own version of artistic reality.  What is sad is seeing this on display in such a personal, damaged and deranged way. The loathsome things he and his handlers wrought on our nation and the world are but a reflection of the silent sorrows that must yet lie deep within his soul.

      ...a lot of his fawning worshippers in the media compared him to Churchill. Looks like he just had to carry the analogy another step forward.

      Now, if only the analogy had held as far as his re-election...
