  •  My best friend from high school had a similar (2+ / 0-)

pregnancy. She was happily pregnant with her second child.  When they went for the 20 week U/S they found out that they were having a little girl. But that half of her heart were missing. They went to a pediatric cardiologist and found out that the BEST they could hope for was immediate surgery upon birth then if she made it through that, MAYBE she'd live to age 5, but that most of her short life would be spent in a hospital and she would need multiple surgeries to even live that long. Or they could wait until she was born at term and have a DNR. Or they could schedule to be induced at 20 weeks. They choose induction at 20 weeks. Serena was born at 20 weeks and died within the hour. She died in her parents arms. My friend lives in Az - where she would now be forced to carry the baby to term, carry the baby for 20 more weeks knowing that the baby would die at birth. I can't imagine what kind of torture that would be. I am so sorry for your loss, but thank you for sharing your story.
