  •  That's a lot of snow (0+ / 0-)

Think my little town here in Maine is going to come close to Hamden in getting the most snow.

Where did you get that listing?

      Local newspaper.

The totals make no real sense though.  It looks like the coast got hit hard but Meriden, Southbury, Oxford, Naugatuck and Shelton are interior in the middle.

To be honest I was hoping for a bit more than our 20.5.  Still it will make for some nice sledding with my son tomorrow.  I'm too tired today to do much but eat, watch tv and sleep in my nice warm house.  For once I actually didn't lose power for a week after a big storm so I'm REAL happy.

But I'll tell you what...for a small town, they were on the job whenever the snow really fell.  They salted and plowed the city streets, and did a pretty decent job of hitting the county roads that served those who lived in the country.

Looking back, we just took it for granted.  It's only after having lived in a few different cities as an adult that I can appreciate the effort and the determination to stay on top of it.  I had to be a major expense for a rural city.

Oregon: Sure...it's cold. But it's a damp cold.
