in 1977 because I'd seen a study which concluded yellow was the most visible, and therefore safest, color. Prophetic, as the car turned out to be a real lemon - but nobody ever ran into it. I figure people knew I had enough trouble with the car as it was.

    •  Yellow cars (0+ / 0-)

My dad's yellow station wagon was a lemon as well.

But my own yellow 1980 Chevette ran OK but was a magnet for yellow jackets.  Every couple of days there's be one of those nasty buggers in the car in the warmer seasons. I never had that with any other car I have owned.

      •  In the 70's I had a dress that had vertical (0+ / 0-)

panels (all ending in a point at the hemline) of varying colors. I would hang it on the clothesline to dry and invariably when I went out to fetch it the yellow panel and ONLY the yellow panel would be covered with bugs. Many years later I read somewhere that bugs' attraction to yellow was in their DNA. I believed it because of my experience with that dress. And now you've confirmed with your experience.
