  •  well... despite my resolve... (21+ / 0-)

to pull in a FEW plants as possible to think to winter them over (things that are normally sold as annuals here because they're so tender) I dragged in the big pot of mexican heather where the passionflower vines were also planted...

I cut back the passionflower to about 6 inches from the base... and about a month later, it started to put out shoots (of course... yah... in the middle of winter!)  It's about 40 degrees in the front porch - so not freezing.

sooo... hopefully maybe this will give me flowers?  The vines I buy are definitely not hardy to my area... and we had too frigid a winter this year that they would have survived.  Last winter they would have been fine since it was so warm throughout.

    we'll see!  :D
