    Wow, 8 years. Thank you Franki, and welso and jayden and MB and Ed and merry light and to all of us, for making such a great community here.
    I've had several failures, few of which are immortalized in digital form, but I did manage to find a few.
    First, the black petunia. Quite amazing looking in online photos:

    But a disppointing grower that was overwhelmed quickly by other plants:

    Coneflowers which started out the first two years going gangbusters has been attacked by powdery mildew or aster disease, but they were an ugly dead mess this year, so I have to get them cleaned out of my front bed this year, after letting them reseed for the last two years (bad idea). But they looked good while they lasted.

    Orchids, wow, I killed so many.
    It was all a matter of adjusting to an environment that seems to get drier every year, after living on the east coast all of my life (the land of plentiful rainfall).
    But I'm finding more and more xeric plants every year out here, so it looks like the garden centers are adjusting too.
