    for nothing in return. They would likely respond to a different set of cuts, probably even a smaller total, but they aren't going to trade spending cuts for higher taxes. As long as the President is requiring more revenue, this train is heading off the cliff. The House, Senate, and WH could come up with a more thoughtful, and smaller, set of cuts if they all sat in a room together for a day and worked on a compromise.

      and Boehner stalked out of the room and wouldn't return the President's phone calls and reneged on accepting the deal - that led to this whole thing in the FIRST PLACE!!!!
