Shortly after Republican Senators stopped their cooing sounds on the filibuster agreement and here we go again.  Frankly, I have doubts about the various nominees particularly regarding drones and secrecy and our war on terror.  But I thought the filibuster was off the table for routine items such as Presidential appointments.  A "hold" is filibuster in another form--rule by the minority.

favorite government entities from having any leadership in order to find out if anyone made the famous if basically fabulous-in-campaign-commercials Three AM phone call, and whether the President went to the rest room that night or had a cup of coffee, because that's what he's asking for, every movement the President made that night, professional or personal. I have never ever heard of any President being required or even asked on an offiicial basis for that sort of personal stuff. And all he may find out is that he didn't answer the Three AM call because nobody placed it until later.

....they will move the goalposts again and ask for a more detailed accounting.

            Was it #1 or #2?

Did the President wipe and did he wash his hands?

Methinks Mr. Graham may just be tempting fate to delve so deeply into the President's personal habits.

            •  Maybe they could invite Graham over to the (0+ / 0-)

White House and reconstruct the events for him.  Maybe even help him out by holding him the exact correct position for the full effect of the Presidential action.  Maybe they could even serve the President some greasy food during the day leading up to it to help with the re-enactment.

A lot of unpleasant speculation about himself.

It's weird that he would insist on speculating about others.

          •  detailed accounting (0+ / 0-)

What if he was having sex? I'm sure Lindsey and Jimmy would
demand impeachment. These two clowns are disgrace to our
government. Please get them out of office, the next election
needs to rid them from the Senate and lobbying in the future!

    •  Reid Didn't Surrender to Bullies (5+ / 0-)

Reid's goal was to keep a strong filibuster to that repugs can stop progressive legislation and so that Dems won't have to take a public position by voting against the substance of a bill. It's better if repugs kill it procedurally. Stalling cabinet nominations isn't what Reid wanted but it's a necessary evil from his perspective.
