Wunderground has been calling this storm Nemo all weekend.  I was disappointed about it and thought to send them a message to that effect.  Now that terrypinder tells us they're associated with TWC, I guess my message would be but a fart in Nemo.  :)

    •  I guess I rarely visit the actual WU website (0+ / 0-)

I usually only see them via the mobile version. It's pretty bare bones weather info. They recently added a tiny ad.

Don't know if it is related to its being bought by TWC, but I've been noticing all kinds of flat out errors.  For my city (Philadelphia), I've seen the thumbnail summaries for the coming week not match at all with the forecast below.   I mean they are of by like 10 degrees.   Several times I've seen nonsense like "clear with a chance of a thunderstorm - low 27 degrees"  WTF??

The forecasts also sound like they are written by robots.  For winter storms with a precipitation changeover the forecast will read "a chance of rain and snow".  Sometimes this means a mix, sometimes it means rain changing to snow, sometimes it means snow changing to rain.  It matters if you want to know if your morning commute or evening commute will be the issue.  The forecasts are getting less informative - it sounds as though they have no people putting the forecast into useful language.

I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires. -- Susan B. Anthony
