    CEO of a local 501C3 hospital as an FOIA and was informed that no one knew what his salary was but would research it and provide it to me as soon as I provided them with $12500 certified check for copying and research costs.

    That is the weakness of the FOIA in that public agencies are allowed to determine the charges for providing information.  In 30 years of researching such information, I have found many agencies try to stonewall.  I was once told it would cost $5000 to have a town clerk fax me a one page copy of the town's monthly minutes.

      are not subject to charges for FOIA information.  Only commercial entities.
