    Or other?

Maybe in some jurisdictions all of the prosecutors are evil and all of the defense attorneys are shining knights of justice, but in my jurisdiction?  We also have a lot of really fucking lazy defense attorneys and a fair number of prosecutors who never cease to amaze me - one of our arraignment prosecutors is basically the most ethical person I've ever met, who regularly comes to me and says "This DR (police report) doesn't add up and I'm going to dismiss this" or "This client needs (x) help, ask for it and I'll support you."

When he knows that the judge we have gives outrageous sentences for certain charges (for instance, we have a judge who appears to be a card-carrying member of PETA), he warns newbie defense attorneys not to accept a plea in front of that judge if an animal was involved because the judge is liable to reject the plea and fuck everything up.

Attorneys are ethical, good people (or unethical, bad people) based on their merits, not based on which side of the podium they sit.
