      •  Is that right? (8+ / 0-)

You cheeky asshole. Have at it. Any debate I've witnessed here quickly devolves into but FDR was worse or he has no power cause the Republicans lost. Then their is the ever popular your an emo-prog, purist and not a Democrat do you prefer Attila the Hun or perhaps Romney?  Since your a woman how about a vagina probe to help you knuckle under and respect Obama.

Terrorists don't frighten you? Don'tcha know they will kill yer family and we need to butcher them all and then drone bomb their evil progeny. War is Hell what's the matter with you enemy of the state? Oh yeah I forgot the ever popular this is the inevitable world as we find it and FDR was just as bad.

May all my and humanities 'ponies' trample your cowardly hero worship of a man who knows how to double speak convincingly to some,  while implementing the destruction of democracy and wrecking the Democratic Party, where we all are required to do the two lags better two step. All hail to our overlord's be they banksters or the Spooks who love to kill and torture.

As that psycho killer Bush said 'Bring it on'. Maybe he didn't say this but his puppet masters sure did so whether your full of snark or bullshit have at it. Most people are immune to your absolutely anti-democratic hero worship and disregard for the rule of law and the humanity not to mention the planet we all must live on.

      •  As an Obama supporter, I'm insulted... (12+ / 0-)

... by the fact that the post above the one above yours is factually correct.  I'm ashamed to have actually drunk the Obama kool aid in light of the facts.

The administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr. prosecuted the hell out of the S&L scandal. George W. Bush had his personal friend Ken Lay prosecuted, because justice demanded it. Obama... not a single prosecution related to the 2008 crisis. This HSBC case proves that there is literally not a single thing scummy enough to land a banker in jail.
Can you crush the facts in a debate too?  The Obama administration has turned the DoJ into the Department of Injustice.  They're arresting law-abiding (in their own states, anyway) medical marijuana providers and leaving these banksters -- who are laundering billions in illegal drug money -- alone.  It's sick.  It's a slap in our faces.  You should feel insulted, but by the facts, not by the people who are pointing them out to you.
        •  Pure bullshit straw man. (0+ / 0-)

Enron set up illegal off-balance sheet entities.  No big bank has done such.

Now on the MMJ side I am sadly disappointed by Obama but all things considered I proudly support him.

          •  Really? (6+ / 0-)

Are you being intentionally obtuse in the cause of irony or are you, as my grandpa would have said, "just plain stupid?"

What did I say about Enron, speaking of straw men.

Second, big banks have done "such" as Enron did.  They routinely manipulated the LIBOR.  They laundered untold billions of drug dollars.  They created fraudulent financial "products" that nearly crashed the entire global economy.

I'm done with you.  Arguing with a fool is like trying to play chess with a chimp.

          •  Actually, that's true. But, the greater truth... (8+ / 0-)

...is that the banks and Congress simply pressured the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to enable off-balance sheet accounting for the banks, back in 2008 and 2009. That's the FACT that you conveniently omit in "your pure bullshit."

What part of "the banks run the place" -- from the top down -- do you not understand?

You have gone to great lengths to hijack the threads in the comments of this diary. Then again, both you and I know this is a nasty habit of yours that the management of this joint seems to continually overlook.
