  •  When is someone going to go after this (11+ / 0-)

with some type of equal protection argument?  How is it ok for me to take my shirt off at the park but my sister can't?  People always snicker at this but if I were born a girl, I'd be pissed off.  The difference between men and women's nipples is negligible and varied.  Some men have larger 'breasts' than some women.  Yet they can flounder around exposing their nipples while a woman doing the same would be confronted by the police, fined and possibly apprehended.  It's blatant injustice.  People should stop snickering about this.  It's part of the whole mess of our society that strives to keep women in some other century.

When truth is only a matter of opinion, advantage goes to the liars.

    •  I think men should march, en masse, to the (13+ / 0-)

... North Carolina statehouse, sans shirts with fluorescent arrows taped to their chests pointing at their nipples.

Plus, these men should be carrying signs covered with phrases like, "Look at my nipples!" and "Why my nipples and not hers?" (with an arrow pointing to the woman marching next to the man holding the sign).

I mean, these fucking idiots need to be mocked and shamed publicly for being the dolts they truly are.

in Ontario, Canada - it is legal for women to go topless.

The pearl clutching and swooning that went on when the courts made that decision were entirely predictable. (A result of a woman being arrested for going topless to make a point. She made the argument that men were not restricted from doing so.)

The results have also been entirely predictable. A huge ho-hum. You may occasionally see women bearing their breasts on the beach or in the Pride parades - but certainly not as a matter of course.

I have yet to see a woman stroll down the street topless, or wander into my local grocery store - although those were the horrors we were supposed to be subjected to. I myself have yet to venture into public topless - and it is unlikely that I will do so.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy... the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
