  •  Well one rational choice would be to support... (0+ / 0-)

...the world's largest, by far, source of climate change gas free energy, but that would be too controversial for a politician to do, I think.

The world's largest, by far, source of climate change gas free energy is nuclear energy.

The first device for harnessing was invented by a Nobel Laureate - Enrico Fermi - the theory of nuclear reactors was developed by a Nobel Laureate, Eugene Wigner, and promoted commercially in partnership with the government by the great Nobel Laureate Glenn Seaborg, who took time from his outstanding research career to head the Atomic Energy Commission.

And what do we hear in response about this greatest of human inventions?     I'll tell you:   Disingenuous things like "nobody knows what to do with the waste," as if somebody knows what to do with the dangerous fossil fuel waste that kills about as many people as died in all countries in World War II every 15 years or so, without a whimper.

(I should note that many people know what to do with used nuclear fuel which is probably an excellent reason that no one in this country has ever died from it.)

I'm sorry Senator, but I very much doubt that you can do a single serious thing about climate change, because your job, like it or not, is to tell people what they want to hear, rather than the truth.

And nobody, absolutely nobody, wants to hear the truth, which is why, after decades of jaw boning here and else where about solar cells and wind turbines and subsidized electric cars for billionaires and millionaires, 2012 was the second worst year ever recorded for increases in dangerous fossil fuel waste.

Thanks for sharing though and have a great weekend!
