  •  true libertarians do care about the environment (6+ / 0-)

since they place priority on respecting environmental integrity and represents accumulated wealth that does not derive from capitalizing on it, so everyone else claiming they're libertarians or conservatives is a lying capitalist crony

If you look at libertarians, you tend to have a lot of differences on things like defence, immigration, drugs, the war, things like that compared to conservatives. When it comes to issues like the environment, if there are differences, they are not nearly as pronounced."

    •  An Honest Libertarian Would at Any Arbitrary Time (6+ / 0-)

in history have been massively more pro regulation than most liberals of their time. Libertarianism as practiced has always demanded that pursuit of happiness must have the most cutting edge science and technology to reap the profits of its fist-swinging, while simultaneously demanding government to be constrained to the most antiquated knowledge and technology in measuring the nose-hitting caused by libertarian fist-swinging pursuit of happiness.

An honest libertarian would be economically beyond the American left wing.

would care about conserving options for the future ...  amazing that Teddy Roosevelt would almost be radical left-wing on many issues compared to today's Republicans on so many issues.

Challenge is that a "libertarian" who really gets it on climate change would see a driving requirement for a significant govt role -- the contradiction fosters many into denial.
