  •  The one I'm proud of ... (5+ / 0-)

I was sitting in my apartment in a mixed/housing/urban downtown area with a buddy smoking weed when we heard chanting a block away.

We walked over and found out the Framers Workshop workers had unionized and been fired and were picketing.  We knew some of the folks so of course we joined the picket line.

Other folks from the neighborhood heard the commotion or were friends of the workers and we soon had a large picket line going, 50 or 100 people.  It was probably like in the 19th century, when your neighbors worked at businesses right around the corner and everyone knew everyone and helped each other against the bosses.

The owner came outside with a camera.  He wanted pictures of us blocking the entrance so his lawyer could get an injunction against the picketing.

But every time he raised his camera I held the picket sign in front of it.  The cops were watching and they eventually busted me for being in the middle of the street, following him around and blocking his camera view.

The Hoxha wing of the Maoist tendency of the revolutionary socialist workers league, 4th international,  posted my bail, bless their trotskyist hearts. Charges were dropped.

I was in several spirited picket lines when there were strikebreakers at teamster strikes and the big Greyhound strike in the 80s and the Blue Shield Strike in SF (run by Ross Perot) in the late 70s, among others, and the anti-apartheid rallies and riots at UC Berkeley in the 80s. But there were huge crowds and the cops couldn't bust everyone and most of us got away.

Orly, it isn't evidence just because you downloaded it from the internet.
