    Citigroup gives a flying fuk how much Lew makes when he leaves them, unless it benefits them.

      If so than please explain to me how that would have benefited Citi in any way.  

      A retention bonus is not pay.  It's to encourage executives not to leave.  Citi would probably explain the clause as a "good government clause" whereby they don't punish people who want to go work in Government.  If they didn't have that clause than Lew would have had to decide to forfeit $1M in order to go work at the State Department.  

      How does it benefit Citi to have to pay the bonus? Does Lew and Citi have some secret agreement from the bonus being paid? Some secret handshake deal?

      Keystone XL Pipeline - Canada gets the money, Asia gets the oil, America gets the toxic refinery pollution and potential for a pipeline leak ecological disaster.

        the notion that it's for Lew's benefit (a) rests mainly on who the money is flowing to from whom, satisfying Occam's Razor, and (b) doesn't rest on a circular argument that Lew is a villain.
