    him getting a government job? I'm sure it's not a matter of, "attaboy! We're prouda you for serving our country."

    I mean, really: if there is a clause in the Citigroup contract that stipulates the bonus will only be payable upon ascending to a high-ranking government or regulatory position... how can that possibly be above board?

    What makes me incredulous is that this is clearly fully legal: it's apparently been lawyered to within an inch of its life. So there mustn't be anything in the clause that runs afoul of the legal code.
