  •  I think that is an excellent question. Are they (9+ / 0-)

    in some sort of collective delusional state where they actually think they are above the law or do they consciously know what they're doing but decide that their own wealth and power supercedes their the lives and well-being of their victims? I've read it argued both ways and I tend to think they are fully rational criminals, but I could be wrong.

      They know what they're doing rationally.  But their still, small voice seems to be preaching avarice and greed rather than goodness/mercy. It does make you wonder how they decide to listen to this message rather than say...the Gospel.  Seems like there would be a mental disconnet at some point.
