    and this is exactly what I'm doing.  I'm trying to see if my furance or hot water heater is causing the spikes.  So, I've been turning off the circuit breakers and then turning on certain breakers and writing down the kwhs used on the meter.

    If nothing else I'm going to contact the condo assoication I think they have a electrician that can check the wiring and to see if there is a problem in the fuse box.  Friday the furance man is coming to see if there is a problem.  It is a big process of elimination right now.  

    I called the regulatory board this morning and talked a someone who was very nice and I hope one way or another I can settle this.  It might just be there is something in my condo that is spiking due to a short and all I want to do is find it and fix it.  At least these new digital meters give you some idea if something isn't working right in your home.
