  •  Open your eyes! You are being willfully blind (0+ / 0-)

to what's already there, in front of you.

Regarding your warning, is that some sort of a joke?  Not only I can assert what I see as obvious, I stand by it 100%.

There is plenty of data to support my claims.

In college, one of my favorite professors was drafted into the German army during WWII at 16. in his first battle, he raced across the field and telling in English, surrendered and joined the British the rest of the way

We know it from relatives killed in Italy or who went to Romania in its darkest hour.

Fascism is not a product of fair elections, the consent of the people.  Fascism is not a policy debate.

I may disagree with both parties on issues at times. But the implication that democrats are nice fascists is insulting in light of the real history of fascism in the world

something.  Do you know, and be honest, how Fascism creeps in in a society?  What are the signs?  How does it happen without the majority of the population being aware?

Here's a hint: democracy is usurped by a takeover of corporations; constitutional rights (privacy, habeas corpus, search and seizure) are slowly curtailed until they become non-existent; police forces are militarized; the government becomes less responsive the the citizens; there is a two-tiered legal system.

We may not be there yet, but there are signs we may be heading in that direction.

The problem with your argument is that you propose a conspiracy theory of rights removal as advocated end in fascism. Meanwhile, rights determination grows in sone areas and contracts in others in most societies historically. After all, the right to own slaves, kill Indians, etc were eliminated.

your arguenent asserts that all regulatory or legal corporate controls devolve into fascism and democrats are complicit.  I reject that notion.

          Goldman $550 million?

Seriously, Ray.  Put down the CT hat.  Corporations only have the power the elected give them.

in prison.  Supranational corporations are the enemy of democracy and are in the process of taking full control of the country.  And they are pushing radical right-wing laws across the country.

there were over 1,000 prosecutions and more than 800 convictions and prison sentences. This time, nobody could tell Elizabeth Warren when was the last time they took a bank to trial.

As have been the case in almost every democracy.   From Slavery to the Japanese Internment camps, from business sins to prison problems.

But the difference is we believe that for all these faults, none of them form the slipperly slope that immediately lead to Fascism, and we believe that there are open advocates of the strategy that takes all of the faults and keeps moving without your conclusion.

        •  While we certainly have..... (0+ / 0-)

....morally unacceptable levels of corporate control, economic inequality, and religious fanaticism in this country, it's still a goodly ways away from fascism. I don't even think corporate America wants that, so long as they get what they want (as much money as possible) for free. It's expensive to subjugate people. What makes us different from Italy or Germany prior to World War II is that we actually have a tradition of democratic elections. And for all of our government's troubles, we have a civilian government that more or less functions.
