was the book, "Indian Captive: the Story of Mary Jemison" (a true story) by Lois Lenski (1941). Jemison, a Scots-Irish immigrant, was captured by the Seneca near present-day Gettysburg, PA, and lived with the tribe for most of her life.  Late in life, she lived in Castile, NY, long enough to tell her story to Dr. James Seaver, who wrote it down. Jemison, who missed the tribe, rejoined them on their reservation in western New York where she died in 1833.
