  •  That's a real reach. (0+ / 0-)

You do not know any details.  For all we know, he supported the son.

But I don't get my rocks off being judgmental about sex.

    •  I'm sure if the (7+ / 0-)

self-righteous prick had supported he would have trumpeted loudly. I'm not being judgmental about him having extramarital sex or sex at all, it happens to the best of folks. I'm pissed about the way he choses his words when speaking about this. Fuck him.

      Oh and what's the reach?

    •  I am never judgemental about sex, personally (8+ / 0-)

But Domenici is-- other people's sex.

And it's worth pointing that out.

Also, sex and procreation are, in fact, two different things. He wasn't thinking baby when he tupped her. He was thinking 'dip my wick'

How do I know this? Because there was a baby. And I am judgemental about that.

Suppose he'd had an STD? He could have passed that along instead of-- or along with-- a baby.

when they have sex?  He "tupped her"?  Was she thinking about baby?  He was thinking "dip my wick"?  What was she thinking?

Quite Victorian and lots of assumptions based on few facts.

Why do you assume that he and the woman did not choose to have sex?  Can a woman want to have sex also?  For pleasure?  What if the woman had an STD?

Lots of judgmentalism about sex and assumptions that the sex that occurred was exploitive.

    •  TomP in general I agree that sexual transgressions (10+ / 0-)

are not at the top of our list.  But as Domenici's constituent I confess to being deeply interested.  Peruse the details in this particular cover story and tell me this is an honorable man:   http://www.washingtonpost.com/...

Like it or not, public servants are held to a higher standard.  And voters don't feel great about it when they find you've lied for thirty years to the mother of your eight children AND allowed a young woman you took advantage of to parent entirely unassisted.

No father who is worth the title would ever say "the son" when he could as easily have said "my son". I simply cannot comprehend how any man could distance himself from his child like that.
