    You may have to wait for a while to get a response,  but chances are you will eventually get something in writing.

    Recently I've written to Boxer & Feinstein about the Chained CPI issue and in both cases I got a response from them.

    The only trouble with retirement is...I never get a day off!

      I think it depends on what you write to them about. At least where the President is concerned. I've been writing him regularly on "Chained CPI". I have yet to get a response.

        the writing...I applaud the diarist as either way you get a staffer.   The only way you get to the congresscritter , is go to the townhall or make an appointment.  I think the talk may get around the water fountain and eventually to the congresscritter.....i do have a suggestion though.  Call in on CSpan Morning Journal.
        They have staff who listen, sometimes the congressperson themselves and usually the media.
        Do that live on Washington Journal.  When Bush was president C-Span was on my speedial.

      to be quite generic and only sometimes actually specific to my letter/email.   But I grudgingly understand that thousands upon thousands of letters & emails are difficult to respond to individually...
