  •  Why? Because The Village says it's her turn? (5+ / 0-)

I hope to god you're wrong.

I remember when many on this site declared the hackery of the dlc dead. Now it's our only possible choice?

Name recognition and money? I do recall her having lots of money and some popularity the last time.

But I guess we just have coronations now. A more suitable form of government for the New America, I suppose.

i would love for a viable liberal alternative, but i don't see anyone beating her, and a lot of people don't want to run a futile campaign. if she does run, i think we should push her to pick a genuinely liberal runningmate. she could win with one, and that would elevate a real liberal to viability.

too averse to agreeing to a one-term "deal", given her age and other accomplishments in life, leaving the even-more important 2020 election to someone younger and more liberal (with any luck.)

i'm guessing either would look at it as an eight year commitment. but there are some terrific potential runningmates who would be in their primes eight years later.

              •  I doubt it, too. (0+ / 0-)

Doing things for the benefit of the greater good of the Party as a whole seems to be a lost art among the top Dems lately, to be sure.

that I'd bet on it given the right odds. I think it is possible, but not likely.

          •  Just a reminder, Laurence (0+ / 0-)

No one saw anyone beating her six years ago. A lot can happen in four years... he said hopefully...
