      last month's new capacity, which is meaningless. We need to look at several years or more of recent and future planned new capacity broken down into renewal vs. non-renewable. One month could be an atypical blip.

      My non-expert understanding is that while the percentage of renewable new energy sources has definitely gone up and will likely continue to go up, there is still a lot of new non-renewable capacity being added that will continue to be added if current plans are approved, and that even the "cleaner" types like gas are actually dirty since they rely on dirty extraction methods like fracking.

      I hate being lied to, whether deliberately or by people playing the role of useful idiot as they breathlessly accept everything they're told at face value because they're either actually idiots, or have an emotional need to believe something untrue because the actual truth would be too jarring.
