in a limited way a couple of days ago.  We wondered what effect it would have on people's waistlines and the corporate economies if people would just start brown-bagging it to work and school.

We thought they certainly would be healthier, obesity would decline, and health improve, if folks exchanged their greasy fast food sugar-'n'-salt-overloaded lunches bought at a window or counter for the variety, freshness, and lovingly prepared (for themselves or by others) bag lunches from home.

I bake all our household bread and we usually "make" our own lunch meat off the roasts we cook once a week -- smoked turkey, roast beef, barbequed pork, fish filets, etc.  Add some lettuce and tomato from the farmer's market, some crudités or home-canned condiment that originated in your own garden, the homemade cookie or brownie and a thermos (or purchased carton) of milk, and you have the best lunch money can buy with minimum to no participation in it from Mickey D, Starbucks, Lays, or Coca-Cola.

Whaddya say, America?  It worked when I was a kid for me and my working parents.
