Recall elections are a subversion of the democratic process.

Unless they result in him becoming Milwaukee County Executive, that is.  In that case they're a great expression of the Will of the People.

Seriously though, most of his recall re-elect campaign was not on his record, it was sending out this message of "recall = inappropriate" all the time that petitions were out there and through the time that the signatures were being counted and through all the time that he could legally draw things out and through the actual campaign itself.

I don't know if Arpaio has enough monied interests behind him to put out that kind of message for that long, but watch out for it.

Fake candidates nominated by the GOP for the recalls: 6 out of 7. Fake signatures on the recall petitions: 4 out of 1,860,283.

I'm convinced that if that had been an ordinary November election, Walker would have lost. There were a percentage of people who disliked using the recall, and even if that percentage were only 5%, that was enough to tip the recall election to Walker.

We get another chance at him in 18 months. I can't wait.
