  •  Seattle now has what, five? (11+ / 0-)

We lost our one and only progressive talk station on Jan. 2. It became yet another sports talk station.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?

    •  I miss the Seattle station (6+ / 0-)

I used to catch Ring of Fire repeats at 3 PM (my time) on Sundays streaming there.  Nobody else has it until Sunday night.

With SO FEW progressive stations, losing KPOJ and KPTK are really bad news.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

KJR-AM, KIRO-AM, KPTK-AM, and I'll be charitable and count KRKO up in Everett. There may be a fifth but frankly I've lost track and don't care to go check it out.

And it's not like we weren't doing fine with one and a half when I first moved here 20-some years ago (KJR and the Mariners/Seahawks/Huskies on KIRO, IIRC). Frankly it seems like a waste of a good class A channel at the least.

    •  We lost our Progressive station in Detroit Jan 1 (4+ / 0-)

Apparently there was little or no advance notice because our local show host, Tony Trupiano, was caught flatfooted.
I really miss that station.  Kept it on in my work truck all day. Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes...all gone.
I actually finally bought an IPod in order to get the podcasts.
Still, can't listen in my work truck.  Stuck with NPR again.

I can see Canada from my house. No, really, I can.
