  •  Molly Katzen has a recipe for chickpea dogs. (3+ / 0-)

It's in her Moosewood Cookbook, as I recall.  (I'd check, but it is at a friend's house.)

I know this won't help if you want dogs already made, but if you're interested in making and freezing, this could hit the spot.

While I haven't made this recipe myself, every MK recipe I've tried is very yummy.  MK does grossly underestimate prep time, especially in Moosewood, so give yourself extra time.

Socialist? I do not think that word means what you think it means.

I have such fond memories of that first book. It was my introduction to vegetarianism.

      •  Mine, too! And I'm an omnivore. (0+ / 0-)

I wanted to Eat Moar Veggies!  But I learned to cook in the Deep South, where vegetable recipes tend to start with frying bacon or heating the oil in the deep fryer.  Or they include a healthy dollop of butter or smothering in "cheese" sauce.  (Yes, my people are roughly spherical.  Why do you ask?)  And your basic green salad and plain steamed veggies get a bit dull.

So hurray! for recipes that make good-for-ya foods delicious.
