    Replacing MIT with " The New York Stock Exchange" or "Disneyland" would probably have the same result.

    I kinda doubt that a call regarding a potential gunman @, say, "the Chelsea Produce Market" would grab the world's attention quite as much.

      Any threat to white, privileged sanctuaries will and do generate disproportionate responses.

      And in inner-city L.A.'s Rampart, Detroit's Brightmoor or Newwark's South Ward, for examples, ... not so much.

        at MIT and at risk in a bad event.

        I think it has more to do with college campus/kids (i.e. age of victims), and the potential for mass murder (a different story than individual shootings) rather than white privilege. Just my opinion.
